3084 — A Numerical Model of Heat Pumps Having Various Means of Refrigerant Flow Control and Capacity Control
A numerical model to determine the steady-state performance of heat pumps for specified source and sink conditions and specified component sizes has been developed. The model has been formulated to simulate heat pumps having four different means of refrigerant flow control and capacity control: expansion valves responding to the amount of superheat of the refrigerant downstream of the evaporator, capillary tubes, expansion valves responding to the evaporation pressure, and limited refrigerant charge.
