LA-80-05-2 — Using the Heat Pump Annual Utilization Efficiency to Optimize Design and Conservation of Energy
The Heating Seasonal Utilization Efficiency (HSUE) for various heat pumps is established with a 5-yr continuing field test program. The heat pumps are ranked by the COP at ARI rating conditions and the measured HSUE to determine correlation. A computer study of 25 cities is used to evaluate oversizing and capacity modulation as a means to optimize design and conservation of energy.
