Human produced CO2 is now frequently used to characterize indoor air quality and adequacy of ventilation in spaces. CO2 levels depend on many factors and to estimate ventilation rates the information is needed on human generation rates of CO2, how they are affected by the activity and other factors describing the quality of indoor environment. The proposed seminar reviews and presents recent research results on this topic focusing on challenges related with the proper estimation of CO2 emission rates and their practical use. The information presented is crucial for proper interpretation of CO2 measurements in buildings.
