Transcritical CO2 Supermarket Refrigeration
Supermarket owners are always looking for ways to reduce the enormous amounts of energy used by their refrigeration systems. During a one-year study period, the transcritical CO2 system of a Maine supermarket achieved approximate energy parity compared with a nearby Vermont store that uses an HFC system, while reducing storewide carbon equivalent emissions by 12%.
